The objective of the BIAS Project is to promote equal opportunity and access to sport, especially judo and martial arts, for children with intellectual disabilities and ASD through the professional and personal development of coaches and, as a consequence, of all children in judo and martial arts courses. We believe that an inclusive attitude, i.e. the attitude to include diversity in all areas of life, can start in education and training, and can ultimately equip all the children (not only the ones with disabilities, but also and in particular neurotypical children) with the qualifications and skills needed for their meaningful participation in democratic society.
